Today, Chandra and I rode an hour on the subway in search of the Seoul Contemporary Art Museum. Unfortunately, after we got out of the subway station we found ourselves at an amusement park/zoo/botanical garden/hiking trail. Its not as exciting as it sounds. Shouting woman at kiosks of headbands that had animal ears, cheesy carnival toys, and fried squid lined the sidewalk. I felt lost and for the first time I was homesick. Whatever happened to parks with preserved nature? We ventured up to a building that we thought could have been a museum, but it was a tram ride around the park with a cheesy elephant. Up the hill was a gondola that also toured the amusement park. The lake was also disappointing. The prettiest thing about the day was this fountain. At the end of the day, we went to our second home, Starbucks and craved Thai food. Too poor for restaurant service, we made pancakes and eggs.
